Bill Levett represented Australia on two horses, Blacker Cat NJ and Market Focus,  Brook Staples on Whiterose Strandwolf and Stuart Tinney aboard Ari de Gwaihir.

In a field of sixty-two, Australia’s highest placed combination after the dressage was Bill Levett riding Market Focus on a score of 59.8 penalties in 36th place. Bill was consistent finishing in 37th position on a score of 60.2 on Blacker Cat NJ . Stuart Tinney scored 61.5 penalties to be in 43rd position and Brook Staples completed phase one on 62.2 penalties to be in 47th position.

Tracy Garside (GBR) and Dunauger were leading after the dressage on a score of 44.3 penalties and were closely followed by Irishman Steven Smith riding Quality VH on 44.4. In third place was William Fox Pitt (GBR) and Kaleidoscope scoring 45.2.

Cross-country day changed things around greatly. After heavy rain overnight the course was energy-sapping and time faults played a big part. Only 4 horses went inside the time. Dressage leader Tracy Garside saw her chance of glory disappear when Dunauger took charge and ran past the "b" element of fence 21, but locked on to "c" and jumped it, eliminating her for an error of course.

Steven Smith jumped clear but had 13.6 time which dropped him to 13th. In the lead after the cross-country were Dan Jocelyn (NZL) and Mr Pracatan. Anona Young’s Mr Pracatan, the former ride of Andrew Hoy, is vastly experienced having completed seven 4* events. Dan wants to take Mr Pracatan to the Olympic Games, and a foot perfect cross country round just two seconds over the optimum time have done his chances no harm! "He gave me a lovely ride and the time was very tight - he had to really dig deep at the end but all I can say is - good on him!" said a happy Dan.

Bill Levett retired Market Focus on course. Bill was clear on Blacker Cat NJ with 13.2 time moving him up one place to 31st. Stuart Tinney and Ari de Gwaihir went clear with 10 time which moved them up an amazing 16 places to 27th. Brook Staples was also clear cross-country but with 16.4 time to finish the day in 37th.

William Fox-Pitt, a Bramham winner on four occasions, had two horses handily placed in the top six with Kaleidoscope in fourth and Navigator in sixth with Polly Stockton splitting his horses with Estrada in fifth. Mary King (GBR) had two great rides on her half sisters to lie seventh and eighth and Piggy French (GBR) rose16 places up the leader-board with a clear round bang on the optimum time of ten minutes for ninth place and Italian rider Vittoria Panizzon completes the top ten with her Olympic hope, Rock Model who were one of the fastest combinations of the day.

The final day of competition mixed things up again. Clear jumping rounds paid big dividends, William Fox-Pitt and Navigator rose from sixth place on to win the event. Seventh place overnight turned into 2nd for Mary Kingand Kings Fancy and Matthew Wright (GBR) moved from 12th to 3rd.

Brook Staples withdrew Whiterose Strandwolf. Polly Stockton also withdrew fifth placed Estrada.

Mr Pracatan and Dan Jocelyn had 3 rails to drop to sixth place. Louise Skelton (GBR) and Partly Picked had 2 rails to drop from 2nd place to 5th. Ruth Edge added 10 penalties to her score to go from 3rd to 10th.

Bill Levett finished the highest placed of the Australians with a clear jumping round aboard Blacker Cat NJ moving up to 20th place. Stuart Tinney had 8 faults but still moved up 2 places to finish 25th.
