A great ending to the 2008 Equestrian Olympic Games in Hong Kong, with an exciting jump-off for all three medals and Typhoon Nuri moving closer.

Canadian Eric Lamaze and Hickstead won the Individual Gold medal in a jump-off with Rolf-Goran Bengtsson (SWE) and Ninja. Bronze went to Beezie Madden (USA) and Authentic in an earlier jump-off with another six riders.

The soul-searching has already begun as to what could have happened if ... . Let's face it, what happened, happened and Australia can be extremely pleased with its results. Nations much more favoured did not perform as well as our team, and the expected re-shuffle of positions after the positive doping cases have been finalised will only help us.

A single rail can make all the differemce, as it did tonight and at the Eventing finals.

By the way, the typhoon warning has been raised to level 3 and "squally heavy rain" is expected tomorrow (today) impacting on flight departures for horses and people.
