Expressions of Interest for Dressage Young Rider Trans Tasman New Zealand 2009

The Equestrian Federation of Australia has received an invitation for two young riders and a Chef d’Equipe to participate in a friendly Trans-Tasman Young Rider Derby at the NZ Pony and Young Rider Championships on borrowed horses in Taupo, New Zealand from 10-11th January 2009.
The EFA is inviting current national and state young rider dressage squad members who are Australian citizens to indicate their interest to compete at this competition in
Applicants will need to prove their experience competing at official Medium level or above dressage to be eligible to be considered for selection. Rider’s application must also be supported by their state dressage committee.
A CDIY competition will also be held at the event and is open to riders with their own horse. The schedule for the CDIY will be available in early November. Flights for horses between
The Show Organising Committee will provide the following:
- The competition horses
- Accommodation either in a motel or billeted out for three nights.
- Dressage NZ will endeavour to provide catch rides for derby riders for the entire event
The riders and official will be responsible for:
- Their own travel cost to and from New Zealand
- Travel of own horse if participating in the CDIY
- Insurance (The EFA National Office can assist with this insurance)
The EFA National office will provide administration support and team uniforms for all riders and officials.
Successful applicants will be required to sign a National Team Members’ Agreement. A copy of this agreement can be found on the National website at www.equestrian.org.au
