Heath Ryan and Regardez Moi have earned themselves a place at the Dressage World Cup Final in Las Vegas.

In a weekend of duelling with Rachael Sanna and Jaybee Alabaster at the FEI World Cup Pacific League Final held at the Saddleworld Victorian Dressage Championships 11-14 December 2008  Heath and the 13-year-old Rubenstein stallion Regardez Moi won the Grand Prix Freestyle thus claiming the right to represent the Pacific League at the Final in Las Vegas in April 2009.

“The Final should be really fun,” says Heath about his American trip, “And a great way to get the horse on the world stage in the lead up to the World Equestrian Games in Kentucky in 2010.”

It was a close contest with Rachael Sanna and the rising star Jaybee Alabaster putting the pressure on Heath.  Rachael pipped Heath for the win in Grand Prix CDI-W on 65.875% to Heath's 65.542%  - but  Heath rose to the challenge to come up trumps in the Grand Prix Freestyle scoring 70.550% to Rachael’s 69.400%.  Mary Hanna on Tango V were in third place in both the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Freestyle.

Although all plans are yet to be decided Heath is considering competing on the Florida circuit for a few weeks prior to the World Cup Final.  “It is always hard to be away from home for extended periods of time but I will be having a good look at the competitions in Florida to see if that could be an option.”

In other classes at the Saddleworld Victorian Dressage Championships .....

Rachael and Jaybee Alabaster won  the Grand Prix Special on a score of 66.480% against a smaller field.  Regardez Moi did not compete in the Special. Rachael and Alabaster started their competition on winning form on Thursday in the Intermediate 11 scoring 66.423%.  Heath and Regardez Moi were second on 66.016%.
