'Fast track ' trial for FEI riders and NCAS coaches to become Elementary or Medium level judges
There are existing provisions for ‘fast tracking’ of eligible FEI level riders to become either an Elementary or Medium judge without the intervening steps, and now the ADC have decided to include eligible NCAS coaches as well.
Applicants must be:
- EA NCAS Level 2 or level 3 Specialist Dressage Coaches; or
- FEI riders who have obtained 63% on 3 occasions in Official Prix St Georges or Intermediate I or have obtained 60% on 3 occasions in Official Intermediate II or Official Grand Prix. Such performances must have been gained in the past 8 years; or
- FEI riders who have been selected in an Australian Dressage Olympic Games or World Equestrian Games Dressage Team
The above riders are eligible to fast track to either E level (Elementary) or C level (Medium)
To become accredited at E (Elementary) level applicants must:
- Be a current EA member
- Complete and pass the H level ORBT test
- Attend a seminar that includes E level
- Shadow judge one entire Official Elementary competition with a minimum of 25 horses. The supervising judge to be a Judge Educator.
- Pass the Elementary theory exam
- Pass the Elementary practical exam
To become accredited at D (Medium) level:
- Be a current EA member
- Complete and pass the H level ORBT test
- Attend a seminar that includes D level
- Shadow judge one entire Official Medium competition with a minimum of 20 horses. The supervising judge to be a Judge Educator
- Pass the Medium theory exam
- Pass the Medium practical exam
