Article 255.1 Equestrian Australia National Jumping Rules

Article 255 AMATEUR RIDERS

 
1.      Amateur Rider classes are classes for riders who:
  • Must be 21 year of age or older
  • must never have competed in an Olympic Games or World Equestrian Games in either Jumping or Eventing
  • must never have competed in a World Cup for Jumping Riders qualifying round
  • must not have competed in section 1 and 2 at a Royal Show in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide or Perth in the past two years
  • must never have competed in a 4* 3 Day Event(effective 1 Jan 2010)Who have competed or will compete in a class higher than the height of the designated ‘amateur class’ at the same show.
  • Horses that have competed in classes above 1.20m at the same show will be exclude from the Amateur classes
 
 
1.1     Athletes must be current EA members. As from 01 May 2006, riders may compete as amateurs from the beginning of the calendar year in which they turn 21 years of age.
 
1.2     Organisers may at their discretion limit the number of horses a rider can start.
 
1.3     The course shall be free-flowing and relatively simple. The first fence in the first round should be 110cm and the remainder of the course 110cm to 120cm maximum height. There will be a maximum height rise of 10cm for the jump-off.

 

LIST OF RIDERS who are not eligible to compete in Amateur classes as they have started in a World Cup class between 2009 and 2012.
