Coaching

Overview

Since 1983 the EFA (now EA) NCAS coaching education scheme has produced approximately 2000 coaches who generally work on a freelance basis and charge for services. The lower-level courses (Introductory) are for beginner coaches to coach basic riders at the learner levels of the sport, whilst the higher-level courses (Level 3) relate to high performance coaching of elite athletes.

The Theory components of EA coach training are delivered in a flexible home-study manner using comprehensive workbooks and recommended reading. Practical study may be with done with coaches, Coach Educators or other industry experts. Assessments for Theory and Practical are performed by EA Coach Educators either in a formal workshop setting or in a one-on-one setting using the prescribed activity slips in each EA workbook. Final Assessment (ie: Exam Day) is the final step for all courses except at Introductory level
