Eventing Equestriad CIC - a great success
Shane Rose rode All Luck to victory in the CIC3* at the inaugural Eventing Equestriad last weekend. In addition to being a competitor Shane was President of the new event and juggled his commitments with professionalism leading the competition from start to finish on his 2008 Olympic mount. “We were extremely happy the event ran without a glitch which was great for our first attempt,” said Shane “everyone on the committee did their job which enabled me to have some fun riding as well.” “Eventing Equestriad” is destined to become a favourite on the Eventing calendar. Spectators enjoyed a live band, professional commentary and a beautifully catered hospitality marquee whilst the jumping castle and face painting were hugely popular with the kids. The riders were treated to an improved cross-country course revamped by the masterful Wayne Copping whilst John Vallance worked his magic on the show jumping courses. Megan Jones and Kirby Park Allofasudden looked impressive and finished in second place in the CIC 3* and third went to Emma Scott aboard Mustang. It was also a rewarding result for fellow event organiser Sharmayne Spencer who won the Merlon Park CIC2* riding her beautiful liver-chestnut mare Jaybee Star Celebrity. Second place to Shane and Koko Black and Tim Boland finished third on the imported Mercator Du Ry. The Capricorn Australia CIC1* was won by Craig Barrett and Sandhills Brillaire, new mum Jade Findlay and Frontier Psychiatrist 2nd and Christopher Burton and Jaybee Calypso 3rd. On a more serious not Heath Ryan was taken to Campbelltown hospital on Sunday morning after suddenly becoming very unwell. He is still in hospital undergoing tests. Rozzie says he is feeling a bit better today and is bossing her around which is a good sign. We wish him a speedy recovery.
