There are two new Young Horse tests which were implemented as of 1 January 2011.

These tests will apply to the 5YO and 6 YO for the State and Australian Young Horse Championships.

Please note that the FEI Young Horse tests are to be executed in sitting trot, unless rising is specified.

The EA commanded tests have been updated as of 11/4/2011.

NOTE: New 6 Year Old Young Pony Tests will be implemented as of 1st August 2012.

Qualifying Events

One round only using the following tests and scored on Young Horse or Young Pony Score Sheet for each age group

4YO FEI Young Horse Qualifying Round Test for 4-year-olds
5YO FEI Young Horse Preliminary test for 5-year-olds
6YO FEI Young Horse Preliminary test for 6-year-olds
6YO EA YP Qualifying Test for 6 year olds - for 6 year old ponies where only one round is held

State Young Horse Championships

Held over two rounds using the following tests and scored on Young Horse Judging Sheet

First Round

(* using the EA 4-year-old Material test and conditions is optional)

Second Round

Australian Young Dressage Horse Championships

4-year-olds

· EA 4-year-old Material Competition test and Score Sheet

· Consolation final for horses placed 4^th and below– FEI Young Horse test for 4-year-olds

5-year-olds

· First round – EA YH Commanded test for 5-year-olds

6-year-olds

· First round – EA YH Commanded test for 6-year-olds

6-year-old Ponies
