Sam Griffiths and Happy Times

UK based Australian Eventer Sam Griffiths is campaigning on two horses at this weekend's Bramham Interntaional Horse Trials.

Griffiths has finished the weekend's event in fifth and seventh positions after both horses incurred 12 rail penalities. 

Paulank Brockagh was the better placed of the two finishing in fifth position. Happy Times was seventh.  

Great Britain claimed the first three positions with William Fox-Pitt and Chilli Morning taking top spot despite a four rail penalty. Pipppa Funnell and Mirage D'Elle were second and Izzy Taylor and Briarlands Matilda were third.

The CIC3* class took to the cross country course on their final day after completing the show jumping phase on day two. Andrew Hoy's Rutherglen was withdrawn ahead of the day and retired Cheeky Calimbo.

Griffiths has improved upon his ninth and sixth placings overnight and now occupies third and fourth place behind William Fox Pitt who maintains the lead on Chilli Morning and French rider Sylvain Davesne and Oregon Du Coty who are second.

Griffiths was clear and under time with Paulank Brockagh bolstering him from ninth to third. He picked up a small time penalty (1.6) with Happy Times which was good for fourth place leading into tomorrow's final Show Jumping phase.   

Fox-Pitt is two rails clear of Griffiths and Paulank Brockagh ahead of tomorrow's decider.

The CIC3* class completed their Show Jumping phase today and Andrew Hoy and Rutherglen are now in 31st position after incurring 12 jumping penalities. The class will contest cross country tomorrow.

After the Dressage phase, Griffiths is currently sitting in equal sixth position on Happy Times after they scored 46.6.

Leading into tomorrow's Cross Country phase Griffiths is also in equal ninth position on Paulank Brockagh after they finished with a dressage score of 47.2.

Great Britain's William Fox-Pitt occcupies first and second position in the CCI3* event. He's first on Chilli Morning and second with Avoca Alibi.  

Six time Olympian Andrew Hoy and his nine year old gelding Rutherglen is currently in 22nd position in the CIC3*.
