World Anti-Doping Code 2013 Prohibited List

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has released the World Anti-Doping Code 2013 Prohibited List which will come into effect on 1 January 2013.

Further information about the new Prohibited List can be found on the ASADA and WADA (www.wada-ama.org/en) websites.

Athletes can re-check the status of their medications at any time by referring to the Check Your Substances tool on the ASADA website.

Equestrian Australia Anti-Doping Policy

Please note that new provisions and a new Equestrian Australia Anti-Doping Policy has come into effect from 01 January 2009. Please ensure that you are referring to the appropriate documents.

Equestrian Australia 2009 Anti-Doping Policy - This By-Law outlines EA Anti-doping policies and the procedures to be followed in cases of alleged doping offences. EA’s anti-doping policy is WADA code compliant.

Athletes competing at National level - ASDMAC Therapeutic Use Exemption form

January 1, 2009.

Minimal requirements for the medical file to be used for the TUE process in the case of asthma and its clinical variants.

The file must reflect current best medical practice to include:

A complete medical history
A comprehensive report of the clinical examination with specific focus on the respiratory system
A report of spirometry with the measure of the Forced Expiratory Volume in 1 second (FEV1)
If airway obstruction is present, the spirometry will be repeated after inhalation of a short acting Beta-2 Agonist to demonstrate the reversibility of bronchoconstriction
In the absence of reversible airway obstruction, a bronchial provocation test is required to establish the presence of airway hyperresponsiveness Exact name, speciality, address (including telephone, e-mail, fax) of examining physician.

Declaration of Use form (DoU)

The substances and methods listed below not longer require a DoU form as they are no longer on the Prohibited List as of January 1, 2011.

Glucocorticosteroids used by non-systemic routes, namely intraarticular,

periarticular, peritendinous, epidural, intradermal injections and inhaled

route.

WORLD ANTI-DOPING CODE 2009

Changes to the World Anti-Doping Code come into effect on 1 January 2009, and will impact athletes and support personnel. Key changes include a new Prohibited List and the elimination of abbreviated Therapeutic Use Exemptions; however, all abbreviated Therapeutic Use Exemptions delivered before 31 December 2008 will remain valid after 1 January 2009 for a set period.
