The Horse, the Environment and Climate Change

In the January 2007 e-Newsletter, we asked the question how climate change and other emerging factors are likely to impact on the horse industry and equestrian sport specifically. Our Horse Deals EFA News editor Samantha Haynes further developed this item (also to be published in the March 2007 issue of Horse Deals).

We asked for input from members and have had some responses so far.  We will produce a summary of these in due course. In the meantime, we would like to draw our clubs' attention to grants that they may be able to access for infrastructure and other projects that are designed to conserve water and protect the environment. Julie Fiedler from Horse SA has kindly provided a lot of information on the subject and where to look for grants to assist.

Julie Fiedler has now become manager for the new initiative HorseLandWater: It has a range of resources developed by horse owners, for horse owners, relating to horse keeping, horse health & the environment. You can  visit www.horseslandwater.com. or download a newsletter.
