Australia to Host 2017 FEI World Dressage Challenge

The Equestrian Australia Dressage Committee (EADC) is pleased to announce the introduction of the 2017 FEI World Dressage Challenge to the Australian Dressage Championships program at Boneo Park in October.

The FEI World Dressage Challenge is aimed at all Dressage riders with a dream goal of representing their country in international Dressage at the highest level and on home soil.

“Now is their chance to ride that dream,” said EADC Chair Prue Spurrett.

The event offers five performance levels and two age groups (12-16 and 16 years of age and above). Intermediate, Prix St Georges, Advanced, Medium and Elementary competitions will be staged and there will be two Classifications – Individual and Team.

For the team, a minimum of three and a maximum of four athletes can be nominated. Each rider’s final scores (expressed in percentages) will be collated and the best three performances will count for the overall team result.

In 2016, almost 40 countries participated in the FEI World Dressage Challenge held in New Zealand http://inside.fei.org/fei/events/fei-world-challenge/dressage

The FEI World Dressage Challenge Competition classes are open to a maximum of 40 starters across all five classes with the Organising Committee and National Selectors to determine the number in each. It’s proposed that the FEI World Dressage Challenge will be conducted on Tuesday 17 October 2017.

More information, application forms and conditions of entry will be available soon.  Final selection of entries and the team will be made by the Equestrian Australia Dressage Selectors.
