Equestrian Australia Eventing Committee welcomes new Chair

The Equestrian Australian Eventing Committee has appointed Des Hughes as the new Chair of the Committee.

Outgoing Chair Will Enzinger has stood down after six years on the committee. Will has served his maximum term and he was not eligible to re-stand. As per the EA Committee Appointment and Procedures Policy Will is required to take one year break.

Will said “When I first stepped on to the committee I never anticipated I would end up in the role of Chair. I am astounded at how much I have learnt about the sport, and the dedication of the amazing people who continue to support Eventing. The Eventing Committee is in great hands with Des and I wish him well in the role"

During his time on the Eventing Committee Will has steered the committee admirably in an effort to increase the safety of all involved in the sport. EA would like to thank Will for his dedication and efforts on the Committee and look forward to working with him again in the future.

Des Hughes said “I am very pleased to be appointed the new Chair of the EA Eventing Committee. Will has done an incredible job during his impressive six year term and has left some big shoes to fill! The sport is continuing to move forward and I am excited to be involved in its development, particularly with the ‘Making Eventing Safer Program.”
