New National Medication Control Officer

Equestrian Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Cate Plummer as National Medication Control Officer.

Dr Plummer will take over the role this month from Denis Goulding who leaves a strong legacy having played an instrumental role in the implementation of the FEI Clean Sport Programme. Equestrian Australia and the national equestrian community is thankful of the contribution Dr Goulding has made during his tenure.

Dr Cate Plummer BVSc BSc (Vet) (Hons) is a graduate of Sydney University and has since been actively involved in mixed practice and worked as an official race day veterinarian for Racing NSW.

An accredited FEI vet, Dr Plummer enjoys a keen interest in performance horses and has held veterinary roles at the 2008 Hong Kong Para Olympics (Medication Control Veterinarian), 2010 Singapore Youth Olympics and Adelaide & Sydney Three Day Events.

In her role as National Medication Control Officer Dr Plummer will co-ordinate and manage the EA National Medication Control Programme (NMCP) and implementation at FEI and EA sanctioned events. She will also liaise with key stakeholders including the Australian Head Veterinarian, Organising Committees, FEI, EA CEO, EA Pathways Manager – officials, veterinarians and FEI/EA Stewards.
