Oatley Returns to Ring

Australian dressage rider Kristy Oatley and her chestnut star Du Soleil made a great start to 2018 at the seventh leg of the FEI World Cup™ Dressage 2017/2018 Western European League in Neumunster, Germany, recording two scores over 70 %.

Competing at her first show for the year, she finished in 9th position (from 18) in the Grand Prix posting 70.239 %. The pair was also 9th placed (from 15) in the Grand Prix Freestyle with a score of 74.980%.

“First time out for 2018 and my first time riding as an ambassador for TRM Ireland. I feel that our Winter break was successful. Duse was so much more focussed on using his positive energy in the test to his advantage,” said Oatley.

“A few rider errors in the Grand Prix and Freestyle but overall much more relaxed.”

Oatley will take another horse from her team, Swagman, to the next competition.

“I’m taking every show one step at a time.”
