What happens if I let my membership lapse?

EA Coaches must maintain their EA Membership at all times for their insurance and registration to remain valid. EA Membership is processed via your local State Branch, and can be renewed via MyEA.

EA Coaches must also maintain their EA Coach Registration, however, if they do not renew this they become a Lapsed Coach.

A Lapsed Coach is one who has not registered as either a Practicing or Non-Practicing Coach for one financial year or more. A Non-practicing Coach pays a small fee to remain registered but is not actively coaching, and does not hold insurance or EA endorsement to coach.

If a Coach has lapsed or is registered with EA as non-practicing they are not covered under the EA Coach's insurance policy for any coaching activities or advice they give.

Lapsed Coaches may reactivate their registration with EA National Office upon meeting the following conditions:

They must send through the following paperwork to the Pathways Administrator at the EA National Office:

  • EA Coach_Lapsed Registration Renewal Form 2020-21.pdf completed
  • Copy of Current First Aid Certificate (Certificate HLTAID003 - Provide First Aid)
  • Copy of Current Working with Children Check (if they intend on teaching students under 18yo)
  • Copy of Sport Integrity Anti-Doping Fundamentals (formerly ASADA Level 1) Certificate (free to complete online HERE).
  • Copy of Sport Integrity Annual Update (formerly ASADA Level 2) Certificate (if required - free to complete online HERE).
  • EA Coach Familiarisation Form 2020-21.pdf that has been completed with a Coach Educator.
