David Cameron, board member of Equestrian Australia

David Cameron has been appointed to the board of Equestrian Australia as Athlete Appointed Director, in February 2019. 

As a rider, coach and representative on multiple boards and committees, David has a wealth of experience which makes him suited to the role.

As a rider, he has competed on a world stage in Europe; has been a member of the Australian Gold Squad in 2015 and 2016; was invited to compete in a World Cup Qualifier event in Beijing, China in 2014; and claimed the title of Australian Senior Show Jumping Champion in both 2014 and 2015. He still currently competes throughout NSW, QLD and VIC.

David is an EA Level 1 Coach and has owned and managed a successful show jumping business since 2010. He coaches throughout NSW, QLD, VIC and SA, coaching riders from beginner to elite level and David has acted as Chef at the World Youth Olympics.

With a Bachelor in Human Movement and a Bachelor in Secondary Education, David has also worked as a secondary school teacher for four years at Parkes High School NSW.

As an equestrian sport representative, David has a vast level of involvement within the industry. He has served on the board of Equestrian NSW, as a member of both the Equestrian NSW Coaching and the NSW Jumping Committees, and as the NSW representative of the EA Jumping Committee. He has also acted as President of the Charles Sturt University Rugby Club.
