Australian Interschool Championships 2019 – Host States confirmed until 2022

Planning is well underway for the 2019 Australian Interschool Championships. As announced by ENSW, event director Jane Frankum has been engaged to lead an experienced team of volunteers in planning for this year’s event, set to be held at Sydney International Equestrian Centre (SIEC) in September/October.

“It is shaping up to be a great year with numbers up for our State Championships that are being held next month”, said ENSW CEO Bruce Farrer, ensuring that there will be fierce competition for spots on the State team to represent ENSW at this prestigious event in October.

As per previous years, there are expected to be over 400 of the very best performed junior combinations travelling across the country, to represent their States at the National Interschool Equestrian Championship event.

New Zealand will also be invited to send a team across the ditch and are hoping to be represented at this championship for the very first time.

We have secured funding from the NSW Office of Sport to help us to host the Australian Interschool Championships and significant work is being done to the cross country track and will be completed in time for our event”, said Farrer.

It has now been confirmed that this event will continue its East Coast venue rotation for the next three years and will be hosted by Queensland in 2020, Victoria in 2021 and again see itself return to SIEC in New South Wales in 2022.

Here at EA, we hope that all Interschool participants enjoy their ride and stay safe during their 2019 competition season. We send those competing at their respective State Championship events, being held across the country between March and July, the best of wishes for successful rides.

Best of luck to everyone; participants, parents, organising committees, officials, volunteers and especially the horses.
