You’re invited to The Sydney Equestrian Festival

To celebrate 20 years since the Sydney Olympic Games the Sydney CDI and Sydney International 3 Day Event are joining forces to present the Sydney Equestrian Festival. The Festival will offer a feast of Equestrian action across eight days of competition at the former Olympic venue, Sydney International Equestrian Centre.

The Sydney Equestrian Festival will showcase elite riders and horses from the three Olympic disciplines (Dressage, Show Jumping and Eventing) as well as Para Equestrian. This is a unique opportunity to see top-level equestrians in four disciplines at one venue.

The festival will include the final qualifying events to be held in Australia for Tokyo Olympic Games in Dressage, Eventing and Para Equestrian.

The Sydney CDI takes place from Wednesday 29 April to Saturday 2 May featuring the best of Australian Dressage.

The Sydney International 3 Day Event will run from Thursday 7 May to Sunday 10 May and run Eventing classes from 60cm through to 4.5 star.  A full Show Jumping program and Para Equestrian competition will also run during with the 3 Day Event.

A host of Olympians, World Equestrian Games representatives and Australian Champions are expected to compete across the disciplines.  Five-time Olympian Mary Hanna is a likely starter at the CDI. Mary has recently moved home to Australia after a number of years living in Germany. Another hot contender will be Lone Joergensen.  Lone, who rode at the Sydney Olympic Games for Denmark, became an Australian citizen in 2019 and now rides under the Australian flag.

In the show jumping arena it is anticipated that three-time Olympian Vicki Roycroft will be joined by many high calibre riders including Jamie Kermond, Amber Fuller, Tom McDermott and Dave Cameron. We also hope to see James Patterson-Robinson, who has also recently returned home to Australia.

Olympians Stuart Tinney, Shane Rose, Megan Jones, Sonja Johnson, Rebel Morrow and Amanda Ross will front the Eventing line-up. The battle for a Tokyo spot will be fierce.

Paralympians Sharon Jarvis and Emma Booth are also expected to be competing.

There will be opportunities to meet the stars and get autographs.

So join us for a celebration of great horses and riders, Australian Olympic history and the legacy of the incredible Olympic venue.
