Australia’s Premier Show Jumping Competition to Launch This September

The countdown is on for Australia’s best showjumpers who are looking to compete with the best of the best to win $230,000 in cash and prizes.

Willinga Park, the Southern Hemisphere’s premier equestrian venue, has announced the Showjumping At Willinga Park competition will be held over four days, from 12-15 September.

The pinnacle of competition, the Willinga Park Grand Prix will feature at midday on Sunday 15 September with more than $70,000 in prize money to be awarded on the picturesque Showjumping Field.

“It’s always a pleasure for me, my family and our team to welcome the elite riders and spectators to our home here at Willinga Park,” says Terry Snow of Willinga Park.

So far, several of Australia’s elite riders have confirmed their intention to compete in this unique competition, including Australian greats Chris Chugg, Jamie Kermond, Billy Raymont and Vicki Roycroft.

Defending Grand Prix winner from 2018 Katie Laurie says, “I can’t wait to come back to the magical place that is Willinga Park. Last year my horses were on song, and I’m hoping we can do the same in 2019. We’re so lucky to have Terry Snow open his doors to the world-class Willinga Park.”

For the first time, the competition will also act as the first leg of the newly formed Australian Jumping Teams League, based on the internationally renowned Global Champions League.

“We are excited to be chosen as the inaugural location for the Australian Jumping Teams League and we look forward to watching Australia’s best showjumpers battle it out for these substantial prizes ahead of Tokyo 2020.” says Terry Snow.

In addition to watching this unrivalled showjumping competition, visitors are also invited to take a stroll through Willinga Park’s award-winning gardens or take a guided tour of the renowned property on our Willinga Park Explorer.

Market stalls will fill the trade village, and unique dining experiences will satisfy your food cravings.

On Saturday 14 September and Sunday 15 September, children can enjoy the free kids zone, which includes a jumping castle and face painting.
