Calling for Nominations to the EA Board

EA now calls for nominations of members who wish to be considered for appointment to the National Board.

The EA National Board is appointed by EA’s shareholders (the EA State Branches) from nominations received from the EA membership. Other persons may also nominate but need to become EA members before their appointment to the Board. Directors on the National Board cannot at the same time be on the Board of an EA Branch or chair a National Discipline Committee. Becoming a Director on the EA National Board is a great opportunity for people from a wide range of backgrounds to contribute their sport, business and professional experience to the governance and direction of the organisation.

The Athlete Director position currently held by Gill Rolton will also be up for election at the 2014 AGM. Equestrian Australia is now calling for nominations for the Athlete Director position on the EA Board. The EA National Board, in consultation with the state branches will appoint one athlete, whom they consider by virtue of qualifications and background will assist the Company attain its objectives, as a Director (refer EA Constitution: Appointed Directors).

The appointed member must be:

• an active athlete in that he or she:

(i) is currently competing, or

(ii) has competed, in the Sport at a national or international level;

• is over the age of 18 years; and
• has not been sanctioned for an athlete or horse doping offence during their Sport career.
