EOI to represent Australia in Trans-Tasman Endurance Event (New Zealand)

Equestrian Australia has received an invitation from Equestrian Sports New Zealand (ESNZ) for four riders to compete in a Trans‐Tasman Endurance Event scheduled for 29th November – 1st December 2019 in New Zealand.

The event is a CEI 1* 80km and CEI 2* 120km and will take place at Waiouru in New Zealand’s North Island, hosted by the Ruahine Endurance Club.

The invitation is extended to an Australian Team of four riders:

  • to include a minimum of one Junior/Young Rider
  • the conditions being that these riders are suitably qualified to enter either a CEI 1* or CEI 2* event
  • have not represented Australia at World Championship/WEG level in the preceding five years.

The invite is for:

  • 4 Riders plus 1groom per Rider
  • 1 Chef d’Equipe

(total of 9 people)

If there is interest from any Vets wishing to travel with the team, or Groom/Vets, we would like to hear from you.  This would be entirely self-funded, however a great event to gain some experience for possible further opportunities.

The Organising Committee will provide the following:

  • Supply suitably qualified horses for the four riders.
  • Source accommodation for 4 Riders plus 1 groom per Rider and a Chef d’Equipe = maximum total of 9 people;
  • Supply accommodation from the day before the ride until the day after the ride
  • Supply a pre‐ride evening meal and all meals on the day of the competition

The Riders/Grooms/Chef d’Equipe will be responsible for:

  • Airfares
  • Entry fees
  • Vehicle hire
  • Accommodation/Food except for the accommodation/meals stated above
  • The horses come under the control of the visiting team from the commencement of the ride until two hours after the completion. All veterinary and farrier fees are the visiting team’s responsibility.
  • Uniform
  • Insurance
