Equestrian Australia supports Winning Edge strategy

Equestrian Australia (EA) is encouraged by the Australian Sports Commission (ASC) announcement expressing its commitment to the high performance strategy, Australia's Winning Edge (AWE). 

Ongoing support and funding assistance is crucial to continued success. The success of the Australian Equestrian Team in Rio, in particular the Eventing Team which achieved a bronze medal, is a testament not only to the dedicated team of athletes, coaches, support staff and owners, but also to the AWE strategy principles which EA's high performance program is closely aligned.

The performances of Australia's equestrian athletes in Rio have invigorated the equestrian community and the results will mean real and measurable benefits to our sport within and out of the competition arena.

AWE is a 10 year plan which is just four years old. It is important the program is given support and the ASC's plans to explore new methods and revenue streams for the future are welcomed by EA.

EA looks forward to continued cooperation with the ASC as it plans for future success at Tokyo 2020 and beyond.
