Expressions of Interest Open for 2026 Australian Endurance Team Support Roles
Equestrian Australia (EA) is inviting applications for two support roles with the Australian Endurance Team ahead of the 2026 FEI World Endurance Championship.
The available positions are Assistant to the Chef d’Équipe and Team Farrier, with both roles playing an important part in supporting the team and ensuring the welfare and performance of Australian horses at the championship.
The Assistant to the Chef d’Équipe will provide support to the Chef d’Équipe across team duties, requiring extensive experience in endurance, familiarity with major competitions and FEI rules, and a strong understanding of horse welfare.
The Team Farrier will provide on-site hoof care and support to the team’s horses, working closely with the Team Veterinarian, athletes and trainers to address any issues that may affect equine welfare or performance.
Both positions require a significant time commitment, including potential attendance at a test event and periods away from home. Applicants should also be aware that EA team support roles are voluntary and involve personal expenses.
The Assistant to the Chef d’Équipe position is self-funded, while the Organising Committee will cover return economy flights and accommodation for the Team Farrier.
Successful applicants will be required to meet Equestrian Australia High-Performance Team requirements, including completion of the relevant Sports Integrity Australia human anti-doping courses. A valid passport, relevant visas and vaccinations, where required, will also be necessary.
The appointments will run from 1 November to 31 December 2026.
Endurance professionals with the relevant experience and a commitment to supporting Australian athletes and horse welfare are encouraged to consider these opportunities.
