FEI Dressage Stewards Refresher and Promotion at Sydney

Sydney International Equestrian Centre hosted two FEI Dressage Steward Courses alongside the Sydney CDI - 28th April - 1st May 2025.

The FEI Level 2 Course ran a comprehensive three-day program that drew 15 stewards from across Australia and New Zealand. Among them were existing Level 1 FEI Stewards and four National Dressage Stewards who seized the opportunity to progress to FEI Level 2, made possible due to the equivalency pathway secured last year. Congratulations to all those who achieved their FEI Level 2 status

In addition, a one-day FEI Refresher Course was held, allowing 12 stewards from Levels 1 to 3 to renew their accreditation for another three years. These courses ensure that the highest standards of stewarding are maintained and continually updated in line with international best practices.

The courses were expertly led by Jacques Van Daele (BEL), who brought a wealth of international experience and knowledge to the classroom. His sessions were both insightful and engaging, covering a broad spectrum of scenarios and challenges faced by stewards. Adding a modern touch to the course, Cesar Hirsch (VEN) joined remotely on the final day of the Level 2 course - demonstrating the power of technology open to our officials’ education.

Thanks to the CDI organising committee for accommodating us to run the FEI courses alongside the event.

The FEI courses not only strengthen the expertise within our stewarding community but also reflect Equestrian Australia’s commitment to excellence for our Stewards on the international stage.
