Final Chapter for European based Para-athletes to qualify for Rio

Australia’s Para-Dressage athletes aiming for Rio will venture to Roosendaal CPEDI3* in The Netherlands from May 20-22.

The competitions will be held at the well-known facilities PSC Den Goubergh and will be contested by three Australian athletes: Nikki Doogue, Katie Umback and Amelia White.

This will be the final event where athletes can obtain scores to be eligible to compete and be in the mix for nomination for Rio.

As defined in the selection policy athletes need to score 67% at two events to meet the criteria.

National Performance Director for Para-Equestrian, Julia Battams said athletes would be chasing strong scores and competition experience.

“Each of our competing athletes has a different goal heading into the event and the Roosendaal CPEDI will allow athletes the chance to fine tune preparations leading into this important phase prior to Rio as well as gain valuable competition experience.”

Information and results can be accessed via the website www.dengoubergh.nl
