June: A Milestone Month for Coaching Activities

June has emerged as the busiest month of the year for the Coaching Department, with coach renewals opening and online coach updates in full swing. It’s fantastic to see so many coaches actively engaging in professional development, ensuring their certifications and qualifications remain current. This month has also seen the launch of the EA Accredited Coaches Facebook page, which is now live, this page is for EA Accredited Coaches only, this page is to share good news stories and keep coaches up to date with information as it arises.

Michelle Clough, Sports Development Officer for Coaching, attended the Melbourne International 3DE. Despite challenging weather conditions, the event provided an excellent opportunity to connect with coaches who had travelled interstate and to watch some of our EA coaches in action alongside their riders. The momentum then continued the following week in Sydney at the Skills Specific Training Assessor (SSTA) course at SIEC. Hosted by Sarah Venamore and Ben Netterfield, the course saw six candidates successfully complete their training.

This was followed by a highly successful Coach Development Day, organised by ENSW Coaching Committee and supported by ENSW State Office, with over 100 coaches participating in the event, which offered a valuable day of education, professional learning, and networking. It was a tremendous opportunity for Equestrian Australia to engage directly with coaches from diverse disciplines and experience levels, and to participate in meaningful conversations on the future of coaching.
