A Letter to Officials from CEO Lucy Warhurst

Dear EA Officials,

On behalf of Equestrian Australia (EA), I wanted to take a moment to extend my sincere appreciation for the time and effort you dedicate to our sport.

Since I joined EA in August 2018, I have constantly been in awe of how passionate and generous our volunteers are. Due to the tenacious work of people like the Officials, our sport can be enjoyed by thousands of Australians all over the country. You are the heart and soul of equestrian in Australia.

At a time when our sport is undergoing a number of changes and reforms, your continued dedication is appreciated.

One of my key objectives in the coming months is to make it simpler and easier for you to perform your role and have the support from the EA head office. I have refreshed the staff structure and moving forward Amy McGregor will be the dedicated EA Officials Pathway Officer full time.

In this role, Amy will be able to assist you with all enquiries that you have relating to your role as an official and helping you navigate the pathway at a National and International level, including FEI promotion and refresher courses.

In addition, I have created a new position titled the EA Sports Operations Manager. This position will oversee Athletes, Coaches and Officials Pathways across all sport disciplines. I plan to fill this role by August 2019 and will keep you informed of the appointment.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly, preferably by email at [email protected], or

Amy on [email protected]

Alternatively, you can call the office on (02) 8762 7777.

I am always encouraged when I hear directly from the people who are on the ground ensuring our sport is the best it can be.

Thank you once again for all your hard work.

Lucy Warhurst,

CEO Equestrian Australia
