Mark Arthur appointed EA Athlete Director

Equestrian Australia today announced the Athlete Director vacancy on the national board has been filled by Mr Mark Arthur of New South Wales. 

Mr Arthur is an active dressage competitor and owner and has been involved in equestrian sport for a number of years both here in Australia and overseas.  Having competed at all levels of dressage right through to Grand Prix and been a regular member of NSW High Performance and Development Squads following success at National & State level , Mark has a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities athletes are presented with in the sport.

Mr Arthur’s professional background as a chartered accountant, advising numerous equestrian athletes and horse breeding studs , combined with his previous experience as an EA Board member provides him with additional understanding  ofwhat our riders and owners expect as members of Equestrian Australia and will complement the existing skills currently on the Board.  

EA Chairman, Dr Warwick Vale said: “Mark’s passion for equestrian sport and improving the sport for all those who participate is unquestionable.  His involvement as a rider and owner as well as the support he has provided to other riders and owners will certainly add value to the position of Athlete Director.

As per the EA constitution, Mr Arthur’s term on the Board will conclude in October 2016.
