New dates and new events for 2016 Aus3de

The 2016 Australian International Three Day Event (Aus3de), Australia’s premier equestrian competition and the triathlon of horse sport, will be held on 3-6 November this year, the first weekend of the month, and for the first time will include a new CIC3* class.

The 2016 Aus3de will include four action packed days of world class eventing, plus more than $120,000 in prize money up for grabs in the only event of its kind held in the heart of Adelaide.

For the first time, the 2016 event will include a new CIC3* event, which will entice more competitors and spectators to the event. 

Aus3DE Event Director Gillian Rolton said the 2016 Aus3de promises to be a fabulous showcase of equestrian sport at its best.

“The Australian International Three Day Event is a highly anticipated event on the equestrian calendar and 2016 is no exception,” she said. “We have so much on offer this year, including Masterclasses, Celebrity Course Walks, the MarketPlace Shopping Village and the return of the FEI World Cup Showjumping.

“We are also thrilled to announce a new CIC3* class, which will be a popular addition to the 2016 program, providing an option for riders that are on their way to Adelaide CCI4* but are not quite ready for that level. After the successful 2015 event, we surveyed riders and consulted with High Performance leaders who unanimously asked for this addition to the program.to complete the pathway to Olympic selection for our riders. . We anticipate a good number of entries for this class.”

“We will also see the return of FEI Olympic Course Designer, Michael Etherington-Smith, who brings with him a wealth of knowledge and professionalism to the eventing cross country phase,” she said.  

The CIC3* will be held in conjunction with the Horseland CCI2* and the Adelaide CCI4*. All classes run in accordance with FEI Eventing rules and regulations. 

The 2016 Australian International 3 Day Event (Aus3DE) is the pinnacle of horse sports in Australia and is one of the six top level Federation Equestre International (FEI) Classic Series events held around the world annually.
