REMINDER: FEI MERs Change Effective July 1, 2021

The FEI have confirmed that you must meet the new FEI MER criteria to be able to compete, even if you were previously qualified at that level.

This could affect you and your plans for competition from July 1, 2021.

Riders are strongly encouraged to read the MERs effective 1 July 2021 to ensure they are qualified to compete at any level on or after 1 July 2021.

For example: For a horse and rider combination to enter a CCI4*-L competition taking place from1 July 2021, the combinations will need to have 2 x CCI3*-L and 1 x CCI4*-S MERs (plus National requirements 1 x CCI/CCN4*-S or 1 x CCI/CCN3*-L as a combination) to enter a CCI4*-L (uncategorised, D or C Athletes), even if they were previously qualified for this level of competition before 1 July 2021 under the existing MERs.

Below is a summary of the changes effective July 1, 2021:

Short format:

CCI4*-S Uncategorised or D or
C Athletes
2 3 CCI3*-S

 Long format:

CCI3*-L Uncategorised Athletes 1 2 CCI3*-S and (1 CCI2*-L or 1 CCI3*-S )
CCI4*-L Uncategorised or D or
C Athletes

CCI5*-L Uncategorised or D or C Athletes 2 CCI4*-L and 2 3 CCI4*-S

Please note: there are no changes to the additional National MERs required for these classes.
