Rio 2016 Olympic Games One Year Away

Australia’s Rio Olympic equestrian hopefuls are among those celebrating #1yeartogo to the commencement of the 2016 Games.

Wednesday 5 August 2015 marks one year to the day that leading athletes from around the world will enter the Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro for the opening ceremony of the 31st Olympiad.

For Australian equestrian hopefuls the #RoadtoRio is already underway.  Eventing and dressage teams have booked their place having qualified through the 2014 FEI World Equestrian Games and Jumping gets its chance at a regional qualifier in Hagen on 25 August – team announcement coming soon.

August is a big month for the Australian Equestrian Team – in addition to the regional jumping qualifier, our Aussie event riders will compete at the Aachen CICO3* - a crucial round in the FEI Nations Cup Eventing Series.

While in September Australia’s Para-Equestrian hopefuls will celebrate #1yeartogo on 7 September.
