Stuart Tinney Celebrates at Melbourne International 3 Day Event

Stuart Tinney was victorious at Melbourne International 3 Day Event today in the Pryde's EasiFeed CCI4*-L, after jumping clear in the final phase of the competition. Stuart lead the charge from the very beginning with his magnificent chestnut, who is aptly named, Celebration owned by Elisabeth Brinton. Stuart also placed 6th and 7th on his two other rides Leporis and Wanda, respectively.

"He jumped super in there, he had lots of energy this morning and worked really well and he jumped as well as he always does, I am very happy.

They all stepped up this weekend and they are all quite green at this level, so I couldn't be happier with them" said Stuart of his performances across the weekend.

As part of his prize Stuart will also receive Rasta D, a yearling colt by Royaldik / Falvelon xx, purpose-bred for eventing by Davidson Equestrian

Second place went to Tim Boland riding Napoleon, with Andrew Cooper rounding out the podium positions on Oaks Onyx.

High Performance Next Squad rider Emma Mason  won the Wild Oats - Best Performed Mare award, with her ride Aramati Fox.

"She is quite young and still pretty green at this level, this is only her third start in the four star and we are just thrilled with her, she has really stepped up. She has just continued to impress us each time she moves up a level and she is a really exciting horse for the future" said Emma of 'Twiggy'.

In the Off The Track CCI2*L Junior is was safe to say the next generation of superstars made their mark.

Oliver Barrett held first and second position after cross country on Sandhills Special and Ballyhoo, respectively, and went on to win the event on the former.

The class also passes on the legacy for many riders, with their parents riding together in the past. Both Oliver and Charlie’s parents are experienced event riders, and Georgia Tivendale is the daughter of Angela Nippers, one of our leading riders in the 90's!

From one generation to the next, the passion for eventing is certainly alive and well.

Congratulations to Team Tinney, including proud owner of Celebration Elisabeth Brinton, and to all competitors that took part in the event.

Well done to the MI3DE team for putting on such a wonderful event.
