Victorian Youth Dressage Championships Set to Kick Off the New Year

The 2Construct Pty Ltd Victorian Youth Dressage Championships will be held at state-of-the-art equestrian facility Boneo Park, from16-20 January and is strategically positioned within days of the Boneo Classic.

There will be an Interschools Championships sponsored by Toorak College together with Participation classes designed to encourage riders wanting to take part but without the necessary experience or performances. Competitors of all levels will be able to mix and enjoy the sport. Combine this with the attractions of the Mornington Peninsula in summer, and it makes for a great experience for all the family.

The Victorian Youth Dressage Championships has traditionally offered the FEI tests for Ponies, Junior Riders, Young Riders and Under 25 Grand Prix. The tests are well crafted and the event has given riders the confidence to go on and compete in these tests at International level.

Dressage is a growth sport in Australia with Interschools events  proving to be immensely popular at entry level. The Championships are the perfect “next step” for riders to take.   Holding the event in the January holidays will allow university students who are not specifically catered for normally, the chance to compete at their “States”.  Support from sponsors for the 2020 event has been significant and there will be entertainment, demonstrations and a select trade village.

2Construct Pty Ltd has been announced as the naming rights sponsor for the event. 2Construct Pty Ltd is a dynamic construction company based in Victoria and one of the few organizations possessing in-depth knowledge and expertise in embracing all aspects of multi-faceted project delivery across Building, Civic, and Civil Construction. 2Construct has been involved as a sponsor of the Victorian Youth Dressage Championships since 2017 and Managing Director, Duncan McPherson OAM has expressed enthusiasm for the 2020 Championships. “We look forward to a continued involvement in this event and are delighted to have increased our support to Naming Rights level for 2020”.

Event Director Jan Smith commented “We are very excited to be working with 2Construct in their increased capacity to deliver an event that will cater for all young riders from eight to twenty five years of age and tests from Preliminary level to Grand Prix.”

Entries are open, the schedule is available on the website www.vydc.com.au and close Sunday  22 December 2019.
