Willinga Park CPEDI and World Championships Selection

The next CPEDI on the domestic calendar will be at Willinga Park on 26 February to 1 March.

Several combinations that will be competing at the CPEDI are also entering Dressage by the Sea, which will be at Willinga Park during the few days prior to the CPEDI. The CPEDI Chief Steward has given permission for those combinations to remain in Willinga Park’s onsite stables between events due to the venue’s remoteness from other equestrian facilities. However, the Chief Steward is not permitting those combinations to train onsite between the conclusion of the CDI and the commencement of official training for the CPEDI, only hand walk their horses.

To ensure fairness in the 2026 World Championships selection process, in particular that performances considered by the selectors under the discretionary criteria are not compromised by an arena familiarisation bias, those combinations that are remaining onsite must not access the CPEDI competition arena (i.e. the Willinga Park Showjumping Arena) between their arrival at Willinga Park for Dressage by the Sea and the commencement of official CPEDI training at 2.30pm on Tuesday 24 February. The only exception to this will be if a combination must compete on that arena as part of Dressage by the Sea, in which case it can only access the arena for official familiarisation, warm-up and competition.

If any combination breaches this requirement, then for fairness the selectors reserve the right to disregard that combination’s Willinga Park CPEDI score towards 2026 World Championships team selection.
