The purpose of Equestrian Australia’s (EA) High Performance (HP) Talent Identification (ID) Squads is to identify athletes who are showing the potential to progress to a National High Performance squad in the medium to long term. The EA HP Talent ID squads are a pre-categorisation squad; therefore athletes will not be categorised under the national athlete categorisation system.

The HP Talent ID squad criteria has been aligned with progression toward the EA High Performance Squad criteria and subsquently athlete categorisation. Athletes already categorised are not eligible for consideration for Talent Identification Squads.

Applications for the EA HP Talent ID Squads are now open. 

Applications for the HP Eventing Talent ID squads are reviewed in June and December of each year. 

To be considered for the HP Eventing Talent ID squad, athletes must continue to submit applications by 30 June and 30 November each year.

Applications for the HP Para Dressage Talent ID squad remain open across the year. 

Athletes may apply by filling out the PDF application form and returning it to the relevant HP staff member, or via the online forms.
