Barrett Withdraws Brillaire from WEG Nominated Entries List

Event rider Craig Barrett has advised Equestrian Australia that he will be withdrawing from the World Equestrian Games list of nominated entries.

Barrett said he felt his mount Sandhills Brillaire was not fit enough to successfully compete for Australia at the upcoming World Equestrian Games in Normandy so has chosen to withdraw her from future selection opportunities.

Having bred ‘Sparkle’, as she is known at home, Barrett is understandably disappointed but pledged his support to the Australian team.

“The team that has been named is strong and will be very competitive in Normandy. I look forward to supporting each of the riders who I know will do Australia proud.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank Brillaire’s owners Keith and Juliet Osborne for their support over the years. This has been a difficult time but Brillaire’s wellbeing is our priority,” he said.
