Caboolture World Cup - Top Honours go to Merrick Ubank

The third leg of the Australian league of the FEI World Cup Jumping series was decided in Caboolture over the weekend with local rider Merrick Ubank taking home the top prize.

Ubank paired with 10 year old gelding Aladino for the Grand Prix which took place within the indoor arena of the Queensland State Equestrian Centre.

They were the only combination to produce two faultless rounds of the Leeson Sirett designed course.

With the next three positioned combinations all finishing on four jumping penalties time proved the deciding factor in the minor placings. Tim Amitrano (Danae) was the quickest of the three and finished in second place with Brett Warren (Cheezy Z) third and Clem Smith (Guru) fourth.

The fourth round of the 2013 series, which is also a qualifier for the Be the Influence Equestrian Grand Final for Jumping, will take place at the Gawler Show on 1 September.
