Change to Australian line up in Aachen

Australia’s eventing team is ready to take on the fifth leg of the Nations Cup in Aachen, with the team of Andrew Hoy, Paul Tapner and Kevin McNab.

Dressage gets underway today, with an unfortunate start to the morning when Chris Burton and Graf Liberty were forced to withdraw just prior to the start of competition.

“The horse was not right this morning and we had to make tough decision not to run him.

“I’m keeping bigger picture in mind and that’s the Olympics and he’s (Graf Liberty) already qualified for Rio.

“It’s disappointing as Aachen is always one of our favourite events, but as I said, we have Rio in our sites,” said Burton.

While it’s a blow for the Aussies, the strong and experienced field of Hoy, Tapner and McNab are sure to give the other nations a run for their money.
