Change in Personnel for Aus3de Ground Jury

President of the 2015 Ground Jury, Nick Burton (UK) has unfortunately had to withdraw from his position at the 2015 Australian International Three Day Event, due to a recent bereavement in the family. Sandy Phillips, also from Great Britain, will take Nick’s place as President of the 2015 Ground Jury.

With under a week to go until the start of the competition, Aus3DE Event Director Gillian Rolton said it was unforeseen circumstances that resulted in Nick’s withdrawal.

“Nick’s brother passed away suddenly last week, resulting his withdrawal from his position as President of the Ground Jury at the Aus3de,” Gill said. “The news has shocked the organising committee and we are deeply saddened for his loss.”

“Sandy Phillips, also from the UK, will take over the role of Ground Jury President, while our CCI4* Technical Delegate (TD) and 2008 Beijing Olympic Games Ground Jury President Martin Plewa (Germany) moves to the Aus3de Ground Jury role.

“Last year’s Horseland CCI2* Technical Delegate (TD), and recent European Championships TD, Queenslander, Des Hughes will move from Sector Controller to CCI4* Technical Delegate, and South Australian TD Tracy Leigh, will step up as Technical Delegate for the main Horseland CCI2* class.

“It’s been a great effort by all to move positions and step into new roles, and we are confident that all personnel will do an exceptional job,” she said.

In addition to the recent changes, Mike Etherington-Smith, Sydney 2000 and Beijing 2008 FEI Olympic Course Designer from the UK, has been working hard to ensure a  challenging but safe cross country course for this year’s event.

The triathlon of horse sport, the 2015 Australian International 3 Day Event (Aus3DE) will be held in Adelaide Thursday 19th to Sunday 22 November 2015. For more information visit www.australian3de.com.au.
