Event Rider Masters, new series - leg 1 entries

Aussie riders Chris Burton, Paul Tapner, Bill Levett and Sam Griffiths have made the cut for Leg 1 of the new Event Rider Masters series to be run at the Chatsworth International Horse Trials in Derbyshire on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 May. 

Record entries see 40 riders accepted from 10 nations, who between them have 327 International titles, 166 wins on British soil, 79 wins at CIC*** level and includes six individual past Chatsworth winners. They are competing for a total prize fund of £50,000, a record at this level, as well as the all important Event Rider Masters series points.

Launching in 2016, the Event Rider Masters is an exciting new series that will bring the sport of Eventing to life. The Event Rider Masters brings an unprecedented total of £350,000 in prize money and links six of the leading CIC***’s in Great Britain.

The series will showcase the world’s best riders with each leg streamed live giving audiences around the world a chance to follow this innovative development in the sport. Riders will accumulate points throughout the series creating the excitement of a season-long leaderboard. The series winner will gain the coveted Event Rider Masters title and the £30,000 series first prize.

The other legs of the series take place as follows:

  • Bramham International Horse Trials, Yorkshire (10-11 June)
  • St James’s Place International Horse Trails, Wiltshire (9-10 July)
  • The Festival of British Eventing at Gatcombe Park, Gloucestershire (6-7 August)
  • Blair Castle International Horse Trials, Perthshire (27-28 August)
  • Blenheim Palace International Horse Trials, Oxfordshire (10-11 September)
