How to Keep Your Coach Educator or SSTA Accreditation

Equestrian Australia (EA) is delivering compulsory education activities for EA Coach Educators (CE) and Skill Specific Trainers and Assessors (SSTA) in preparation for the EA Coach registration period (1 July 2021).

All EA CEs and SSTAs are required to complete an update every two years to maintain accreditation.

Three EA CE and SSTA Updates have been already completed in 2021.

If you did not attend an update in 2020 and have not as yet attended an update in 2021, we have two further dates available:

• Tuesday, 22 June 2021 18:30 to 20:30 AEST
• Tuesday, 29 June 2021 18:30 to 20:30 EAST

Please note: A CE/SSTA Update is not intended to be professional development but an UPDATE on the EA system and the role of the CE/SSTA within it.

The Updates are being conducted in a Covid safe way utilising electronic delivery and online meetings.  

The use of technology has been a direct response to the global pandemic but it also allows us to:

• Provide a national delivery platform for the National Coaching scheme
• Reach all EA CE/SSTAs regardless of location, reducing the burden of time and travel
• Reduce attendance costs
• Provide a consistent message through a centralised delivery system.

The Update is being presented by Simon Kale (IGEQ Executive member, EA IGEQ Delegate, EA Coach Educator, EA L3 General and EA L3 Eventing Coach), supported by Sue Birch – EA Coaching Pathways Officer.

There are four components to the CE/SSTA Update:

1. Online Coach Update
2. Assessments of 1 x riding task and 2 x lessons
3. The CE/SSTA Update presentation
4. Post-presentation CE/SSTA quiz and feedback
