Jumping MER Shows in Australia for 2020 Tokyo Olympics

As discussed at the riders meeting last week at Elysian Fields, Equestrian Australia recognises the need for athletes to start forward planning for their 2019 competition season and their Tokyo 2020 campaign.

Please find below a draft summary of the 2020 Australian Jumping Team Selection Events, held within Australia, in which riders can obtain their Minimum Eligibility Requirement (MER).

Please note that the 2020 Australian Jumping Team - Nomination Criteria is currently with the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC) for final approval, once the policy has been approved riders will be informed.

Outdoor World Cup Qualifiers:

Athlete/Horse combinations that have completed the first round of any FEI World Cup™ competitions, at selected outdoor CSI1*-W, with a score of not more than of zero (0) penalties will obtain half their MER.

  • Adelaide Royal (WC) 5th September 2019
  • Melbourne Royal (WC) 24th September 2019
  • Adelaide 3DE (WC) November 2019
  • Sale (WC) 24th November 2019
  • Sydney Summer Classic (WC) 7th December 2019
  • Boneo Park (WC) 2nd January 2020
  • Boneo Park Classic (WC) 26th January 2020

Australian Showjumping Championships:

Athlete/Horse combinations that have completed the first round of the Final Senior Competition at the Australian Championships on Sunday 10th November 2019 with a score of not more than eight (8) penalties will obtain their full MER qualification.
