Vaulting with the Wallabies

Over 100 Vaulters from NSW, ACT, VIC, QLD, WA, SA and Germany attended one of the largest vaulting competitions to be held in Australia held at Wallaby Hill Farm in Robertson (NSW).

The event included a CVI (Concours Voltiger International) giving competitors the opportunity to gain qualifying scores to be eligible for entry to international vaulting competitions.

A number of young vaulters achieved the required scores and consequently are now eligible to compete at the next international grade as an individual vaulter:

  • Natalie McNeil (NSW)
  • Emma Moulds (SA)
  • Nicole Connor (NSW),
  • Justin Boyle (NSW)
  • Megan Couzins (NSW)
  • Sarah Ryan (VIC)
  • Rhiannon Webb (NSW)
  • Melissa-Jane Thompson (NSW)
  • Zac Singlehurst (SA)
  • McKeira Cumming (QLD)

Netherlands based FEI judge, Rob de Bruin accompanied 7 Australian judges in officiating throughout the event. Rob said he was impressed with Australia’s standard of vaulting.  

Gold medals were taken home by the following vaulters in their CVI classes;

  • Alex Playfoot, VIC, CVI Childrens' One Star Female
  • Finn Corbett, NSW, CVI Childrens' One Star Male
  • Alexandra Moon, NSW, CVI Junior One Star Female
  • Justin Boyle, NSW, CVI One Star Male
  • Megan Couzins, NSW, CVI One Star Female
  • Zac Singlehurst, SA, CVI Junior Two Star Male
  • McKeira Cumming, QLD, CVI Junior Two Star Female
  • Matthew Williams, SA, CVI Two Star Male
  • Natalie McNeil, NSW, CVI Two Star Female
  • Zac Singlehurst (SA) and McKeira Cumming (QLD), CVI Two Star Pas de Deux

In August our vaulters are aiming to represent Australia at the Junior World Championships held in the Netherlands for the first time.
