Emma Klugman

What age did you start riding and how did you get into riding? At 7yo in Nairobi, Kenya, where my family was living at the time.

Tell us about your first pony or horse: Hedgehog was a small grey pony who liked to buck and at one point was pregnant without us knowing!

If you attended Pony Club, which one? Nairobi Pony Club, then Seneca Valley Pony Club in the States.

What made you want to pursue Eventing? Pony Club introduced me to eventing, and I was hooked.

Assistance along the way from EA Coaches? I worked for and rode with Jade Findlay for a winter in Australia, but otherwise I have been based in the States. Will Enzinger has been a great advisor for me and my upper level horses.

Do you have a role model or anyone you particularly admire? Ros Canter is who I like to emulate, and I admire her determination!

Name some of your greatest competitive achievements. Highest placed young rider at the 2021 Kentucky Three-Day Event; top-ten placings at Morven Park 4*L, podium finishes at numerous 4*, 3*, and 2* events in America.

Short term and long term future goals? I would like to represent Australia at the Olympics and World Championships. My goal is to have 2-3 4* and 5* horses going at any given time.
