Adelaide World Cup Qualifier and Dual Crown final begins

Organisers of the Australian International Three Day Event are pleased to once again host a World Cup Showjumping qualifier during the 2016 event.

The World Cup Qualifier took place on Friday as a One Round Stakes during the Jumping with the Stars evening. The crowd enjoyed the suspense and athleticism of some of the very best showjumpers in Australia as they competed in the heart of Adelaide city. 

Last year’s winner, New South Wales rider James Arkins and Da Vinci’s Pride were the fastest clear round in the One Round Stakes World Cup Qualifier, with a time of 60.30.

“The atmosphere is electric, the ground is fantastic and it is always amazing to jump in such a beautiful location in the heart of the city. It is also a good chance to showcase our sport to a wider audience,” he said.

The second fastest clear round was Robert Goodwin and Co Pilot with a time of 65.55.

Stuart Jenkins and Fairview Aliquidam was also clear, with a time of 65.88. The final of the World Cup Show Jumping will be held on Sunday at approximately 1.00pm

Dual Crown Series 

The Dual Crown Jumping champion will be determined on Sunday by using results from the Australian Senior Championship and the Adelaide 3 Day World Cup Jumping class.

The Dual Crown is a new National Series in the disciplines of Jumping and Eventing that will offer big thrills, big suspense and big prize money.

Jamie Kermond, currently sitting at the top of the Jumping Dual Crown leaderboard with 10 points, is not competing this weekend in Adelaide which leaves the suspense open on who will be the overall Dual Crown Jumping winner. Victorian Andrew Lamb, who is currently in second position on the leaderboard, and Queensland’s Robert Goodwin will be among the jumping riders after the points in Adelaide to win the Dual Crown.

The Dual Crown of Eventing champion will be determined by using results from the Australian International Three Day Event and the Melbourne International Three Day Event.
