Dressage and Jumping finalists revealed for the Be the Influence Equestrian Grand Final

Jamie Kermond and Caracass
Senior Australian Show Jumping Champions for 2013.

The current Australian Dressage Champion and Show Jumping Champion are among those finalists confirmed today by Equestrian Australia for this year's Be the Influence Equestrian Grand Final.

As well as including the current senior show jumping champion in Jamie Kermond, the list of Jumping finalists boasts the current young rider show jumping champion, Tom McDermott, and the current leader of the Australian League of the FEI World Cup Jumping Series, Billy Raymont.

Queenslander Clem Smith, who went up against Kermond in a two way jump off for the senior show jumping title is also in the mix, as is Jamie Winning who recently took over the ride on the 2011 Australian Show Jumping Champion Wirragulla Nicklaus.

If recent results from the Saddleworld Australian Dressage Championships are anything to go by, this year’s Be the Influence Equestrian Grand Final – Dressage will be another close affair. Leading qualifier Sheridyn Ashwood will be brimming with confidence after claiming the 2013 Australian Dressage Champion title, while crowd favourite Rozzie Ryan will be vying for the crown as will husband Heath, who is a two time winner of this event.

Equestrian Australia CEO Grant Baldock said the Be the Influence Equestrian Grand Final is a growing event which becomes more popular with each year.

“In 2013 we are excited to see the Be the Influence Equestrian Grand Final return to the Dome Arena at the Sydney Showground. This venue offers both athletes and spectators with world class facilities and is a fitting location to hold Australia’s premier equestrian event.

“We look forward to welcoming equestrian fans to the 2013 Be the Influence Equestrian Grand Final where there is sure to be intense competition across the three events,” he said.

The Be the Influence Equestrian Grand Final offers Australia’s top riders the chance to take home one of the country’s most prestigious equestrian titles and a slice of the $70,000 in prize money.

The event returns to Sydney in 2013 to be hosted at EQUITANA Sydney, from 7-10 November.  Tickets are on sale athttp://www.equitana.com
