FEI Return To Play – Update to FEI Covid-19 Policy

Please note the latest updates made to the FEI Policy for Enhanced Competition Safety during the COVID-19 Pandemic ("COVID-19 Policy"). The updated version is published on the FEI COVID-19 Return to Play hub.

The main changes are found in Section V “Best Practice Recommendations for FEI Event Organisers” and can be summarised as follows:

  • Recommendation for OCs to provide instructions to follow by the different categories of persons who will attend the event in case they receive a SARS-CoV-2 positive test result, COVID-19 diagnosis or quarantine requirement notification. The aim of this new recommendation is to help the OC with COVID-19 related cancellations, entry screenings and follow up with the contact tracing authorities.

  • Recommendation to OCs that gatherings that are not absolutely essential to the event, such as parties, should be avoided (this helps to reduce the overall COVID-19 transmission risk associated with the event).

  • Clarification of the consequences of the removal of a team member due to COVID-19.

Please also note that the remaining discipline-specific guidelines in compliance with the FEI COVID-19 Policy will be published on the FEI COVID-19 Return to Play hub on 19 October.
