Merrick Ubank wins his second WC Qualifier for 2013

A clear first round to Merrick Ubank in Sunday's World Cup qualifier at the Royal Melbourne Show gave the Queensland rider the edge over the field awarding him his second CSI1*-W for the 2013 season.

It was the only clear round of the class and put Ubank and his mount, Aladino, four jumping penalties ahead of second placed combination Billy Raymont and Stardom who picked up four jumping penalties in both the first and second rounds.

Jamie Kermond and Valhalla 3 had also finished on the same score as Raymont but their second round wasn’t as fast and they ended the day in third.

For the top 15 riders of the Australian league of the FEI World Cup Jumping series it is now onto the Be the Influence Equestrian Grand Final, being held at EQUITANA Sydney on Friday 8 November.
